Argentina is the fourth largest country in the continent
with its 2,780,400 km ². Perhaps for this reason two of the axes that support its economy are food production from agriculture and cattle breeding. The main geographical feature of most of its territory is temperate grassland, which makes it exceptionally suitable for cultivation. Oilseeds such as soybeans and
sunflowers and cereals such as maize and wheat crops are preferred.
These conditions are also ideal for
dove. There is plenty of food and water throughout the year, reason enough to establish their colonies between crops and plains. These conditions help to maintain a reproductive rate that have led to it being considered a pest by farmers, as happened in the province of
Entre Rios and ranked in the provincial hunting law since 1970.
So not only it is allowed to hunt them, but also the locals appreciate it. There are at least 9 families of this bird identified throughout the territory, and two of them are allowed to hunt
without limits year round. This has meant that for several years to promote
hunting tourism. This, in addition to collaborating with attempts to stave off the
growth of the doves, led to provinces such as Cordoba and Entre Rios to a very beneficial economic movement for its inhabitants, who are striving
to offer fans of the
dove hunting that arrive from all over the world the best in infrastructure, services and personalized attention.
Los Ombúes, attended by its owner Carlos Sanchez, is THE most distinguished
lodge for dove hunting in the region. Each of the areas that compose the lodge, reflect the passion and the intention to provide a unique experience to its guests,
offering the hunter 9 hours of non- stop shooting.
