Dove hunting is a sport like any other. It requires not only to have the material necessary for its exercise and stage right, but also a set of skills to turn the activity a pleasant time.
Besides being successful in the
election of lodge, and the field, with the gun hanging over the shoulder, the rest is the work of the
hunter. Among the main skill that that each hunter has to develop, it is to
understand the behavior of doves. They usually fly just after dawn from a place of rest to a source of water and then quickly move to feeding areas, where they remain until noon. They fly in the vicinity during the afternoon and end in the evening again in the feed zone, and move on to the water source and return to overnight.
Doves usually find spaces with fine
gravel or stone to help grind the seeds. Thus, rural roads, sand and stone quarries nearby natural feeding centers or water supply become ideal places where the
hunter of birds can be wagered to wait for his passage.
It is important to use
proper camouflage that matches the environment, because the doves use their visual acuity to stay away from that which contrasts with the rest of the landscape. The best camouflage will do little if you can not stand still and attentive to not scare the birds that pass near you.
At
our lodge we have guides who will assist in the knowledge of the terrain and their best assessment to make your
dove hunting in Argentina an experience to be repeated.
