COMFORT AND PLEASURE
Los Ombues Lodge,
sitting on a bluff overlooking the vast fields and wetlands, is a beautiful 12,000 sq. ft red brick and yellow stucco building constructed in
authentic Argentine Style. The lunge and dining room look out across and endless expanse of the Delta and the
viewer may see half a dozen blinds just a little over half a mile away through the panoramic windows.
The lodge has eight spacious two bedded bedrooms with private bathrooms, a mudroom for removing and drying boots and clothing, a gun cleaning room, a large dining room, an ultra modern kitchen and a large living room with overstuffed chairs and sofas arranged around a fire place.
The walls are adorned with mounted ducks and paintings of hunting scenes. Food and wines are of gourmet quality.
It also has most of the other facilities that any businessman may need while being abroad, such as telephone, fax machine, PC, internet Wi-Fi.
Liquor
The lodge serves
beer and very good Argentine wines with the meals. The bar is stocked with several bottles of liquor, but is appreciated if guests bring a bottle of their own fauvorite liquor, picking it up at a duty free shop on the trip down.
Argentina allows you to bring tow litres of liquor. Guests also bring their own cigars.
Tipping: Not mandatory at Los Ombues
Los Ombues has a good system for handling tips.
You give the tip to the lodge manager and he distributes it to all the staff which includes: bird boys, scouters, field guides, drivers at the lodge and house staff. There’s no need for individual tips at the lodge.
What these tips do not include and are not mandatory either, is a tip to the masseuse (we suggest U$S 10 per massage) in a tip for the master guides that are also not mandatory and will be gladly accepted by them if you are really happy with the services provided to you.
It is acceptable to tip private drivers and city guides in Buenos Aires. Restaurants: 10-15 %. Hotel bellboys: U$S 1 per piece of luggage. Guide services in Buenos Aires: U$S 50 – U$S 100 depending on time spent in Buenos Aires. Drivers U$S 10 – U$S 50 depending on time spent with them.
